Espire Hospitality signs JW Marriott resort near Vrindavan

Luxury hospitality expansion in India is increasingly moving beyond established leisure hubs, with new developments targeting culturally significant destinations. Espire Hospitality’s latest partnership with Marriott International reflects this shift, bringing a global luxury brand to the Vrindavan region.

Espire Hospitality Limited has entered into an agreement with Marriott International to develop a JW Marriott Resort & Spa near Vrindavan, with the property scheduled to open in January 2029. Located within an hour’s drive from New Delhi, Gurugram, and Noida, the 14-acre development is positioned to combine accessibility with a tranquil, nature-led setting.

The signing marks a further expansion of Espire Hospitality’s luxury portfolio following its association with Six Senses Fort Barwara. The upcoming resort will feature 151 keys, including rooms, villas with cascading water features, and a Presidential Suite, catering to leisure travellers, corporate FITs, MICE, and destination weddings.

Focus on experiential luxury and design

The project is being developed around a design philosophy centred on sustainability, local craftsmanship, and conscious sourcing. The resort aims to integrate art, culture, and natural landscapes to create an immersive luxury experience.

Akhil Arora, CEO and Managing Director, Espire Hospitality Limited, said, “JW Marriott Resort & Spa has been envisioned as a sanctuary of soulful luxury, where contemporary elegance meets nature, culture, and timeless experiences. This partnership marks a significant step in strengthening our luxury portfolio.”

Gagan Oberoi, CEO, Espire Group, added that the collaboration aligns with the group’s strategy to expand its uber-luxury segment through high-impact developments.

Wellness, dining and event infrastructure

The resort will feature three dining venues, including an all-day multi-cuisine restaurant, a specialty restaurant with alfresco seating, and a poolside bar. Wellness facilities will include an Eden-inspired spa with therapy rooms, a health club, salon, and recreational spaces such as a kids’ club and mini water park.

Additional amenities include an outdoor heated pool and a separate children’s pool, designed to cater to both family and leisure segments.

A significant focus has also been placed on events and social gatherings. The property will include a grand ballroom, a landscaped celebrations courtyard, and multiple meeting rooms, positioning it as a destination for weddings, conferences, and corporate retreats.

Expanding luxury footprint

The development highlights Espire Hospitality’s broader expansion plans, with the company targeting new destinations and aiming to add multiple properties to its portfolio by FY-27.

With increasing demand for experiential and destination-led travel, the entry of JW Marriott into the Vrindavan region reflects a growing opportunity to blend cultural tourism with high-end hospitality offerings.
