FLY91 adds Hubballi, expands regional connectivity footprint

Regional aviation in India is steadily reshaping travel patterns, with smaller cities gaining stronger air links and reduced dependence on long surface journeys. FLY91’s latest expansion reflects this shift, as the airline continues to deepen connectivity across emerging regional corridors.

FLY91 has expanded its network with the launch of operations to Hubballi, marking its 12ᵗʰ domestic destination. The airline also commenced three new routes — Solapur–Hyderabad, Hubballi–Hyderabad and Hubballi–Bengaluru — further strengthening its presence across central and southern India.

Strengthening regional corridors

The airline inaugurated its Hubballi operations on 17 April, receiving a ceremonial water cannon salute on arrival. The addition of Hubballi, a key trade and industrial hub in North Karnataka, is expected to enhance connectivity for business, education and regional travel.

Improved air links to Hyderabad and Bengaluru are likely to support faster mobility across sectors, offering an alternative to time-consuming road and rail travel.

Expanding network with demand-led approach

Alongside new routes, FLY91 has also increased frequency on its Goa–Solapur service, responding to growing passenger demand. The airline is also adding seasonal capacity, introducing additional flights on the Agatti–Kochi route between April 16 and May 20, 2026, to cater to summer travel demand.

Commenting on the expansion, Manoj Chacko, Managing Director and CEO, FLY91, said the addition of Hubballi reflects the airline’s focus on strengthening regional connectivity.

“Hubballi is our 12th domestic destination after just two years of operations. Connecting tier 2 and tier 3 cities in a short span reflects our commitment to measured growth and improving access to underserved destinations,” he said.

Focus on innovation and passenger experience

In a move aimed at enhancing transparency, FLY91 has introduced a pre-booked baggage fare structure under its Smartbag91 offering. The system allows passengers to select fixed baggage slabs at the time of booking, adding flexibility and predictability to pricing.

Growing regional network

With this expansion, FLY91 now operates across 12 destinations, including Goa (Mopa), Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Solapur, Jalgaon, Sindhudurg, Kochi, Agatti, Hubballi, Vijayawada and Rajahmundry.

As regional aviation gains momentum, FLY91’s continued network expansion highlights the increasing importance of tier II and III cities in India’s evolving air travel landscape.
