Global airline load factor slips to 84.2% in June amid softer demand and capacity cuts: IATA

The global airline load factor declined to 84.2% in June 2026 as passenger demand softened and airlines reduced capacity, according to IATA. Overall demand fell 1.7%, while capacity decreased 1.3% year-on-year. Willie Walsh, Director General, IATA, said, “The demand decline in June was largely driven by the impact of conflict in the Middle East. Outside the region, air travel demand remained resilient despite higher fuel costs and airfares.”
