Tourism needs to make better use of data as technology reshapes travel, said Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister for Tourism, at the HAI Hoteliers’ Conclave 2026. “In today’s time, data is the dynamite. And the way we are going to re-align our data, re-aggregate it, we have to start analysing it,” he said. Shekhawat said the government would need industry support and announced plans to build India’s new National Destination Digital Knowledge Bridge around World Tourism Day on 27 September.
