Gujarat steps up aviation push with 19 airports, targets stronger regional connectivity and tourism


Gujarat is strengthening its aviation infrastructure with 19 airports currently serving the state, as the government looks to expand connectivity and support economic and tourism growth. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said the state is focusing on developing aviation infrastructure to meet rising demand and connect more regions. The push includes strengthening existing facilities and improving access to emerging destinations. Patel emphasised that better air connectivity will support trade, tourism, and regional development, reinforcing Gujarat’s position as an important aviation and economic hub.
