Speaking at the TravTalk ThinkTank, Lakshmi Sridhar, General Manager, Novotel Visakhapatnam Varun Beach, said hotels will become increasingly technology-driven, but human interaction must remain at the heart of hospitality. She added that technology can track guest preferences and support service delivery, but should not replace personal interaction. “When it comes to the human touch, I don’t think AI should come into that part because that is the essence of hospitality,” she said. She argued that welcoming guests and being available to address their needs require human involvement. “I feel future is high–tech. I have no doubt about it, but high–touch is the essence,” Sridhar said.
