Food safety remains a critical pillar of hospitality operations as hotels and restaurants navigate increasing regulatory requirements and rising consumer expectations. Reinforcing industry-wide compliance and best practices, the Hotel and Restaurant Association (Western India) recently conducted an FSSAI-certified training programme in Mumbai for hospitality professionals.
The Hotel and Restaurant Association (Western India) (HRAWI) organised the latest edition of the Food Safety Supervisor Training in Advance Catering (FoSTaC) programme in Mumbai, bringing together hospitality professionals to strengthen food safety knowledge and operational compliance across the sector.
Held at Hotel Marine Plaza on 27 May 2026, the training programme was conducted by Dr V. Pasupathy, Trainer, Parikshan FSS Pvt Ltd. The session focused on key aspects of food safety, including food handling, hygiene practices, sanitation protocols, and waste management.
A total of 30 hospitality professionals participated in the programme, gaining practical insights into implementing and maintaining food safety standards within their organisations. The initiative forms part of HRAWI’s ongoing efforts to promote a culture of food safety and regulatory compliance across the hospitality industry.

Strengthening industry preparedness
HRAWI has been actively conducting FoSTaC and FSSAI Management Training Programmes across Western India to help hospitality businesses meet evolving regulatory requirements while enhancing guest confidence in food safety standards.
According to the association, it has successfully trained and certified 3,870 hospitality professionals through these initiatives. The programme aims to equip industry stakeholders with the knowledge and skills required to maintain the highest levels of food safety and hygiene across hospitality establishments.
With hospitality businesses increasingly focusing on quality assurance, guest wellbeing, and compliance, such training programmes continue to play an important role in building awareness and strengthening operational preparedness across the sector.
