India plans 44-airport hub-and-spoke network to strengthen global connectivity and seamless international travel access nationwide


India will develop a 44-airport hub-and-spoke network, comprising four hub airports and 40 spoke airports, to strengthen international connectivity and position the country as a global aviation hub. The model will enable seamless transfers from tier II and tier III cities through major hubs like Delhi. Samir Kumar Sinha, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, said, “Our vision is to develop four hub airports and 40 spoke airports across the country, creating a nationwide network that provides seamless international connectivity, improves passenger convenience, strengthens Indian airports as global gateways, and supports India’s ambition of becoming a leading international aviation hub.”
