In a significant boost to regional tourism, India will reopen tourist visa applications for Bangladeshi nationals from 28 June, ending a nearly two-year suspension. The move is expected to revive leisure, shopping, medical, and family travel, while supporting the gradual normalisation of bilateral ties. Tourist visa applications will initially be accepted through five Indian Visa Application Centres across Bangladesh, with services set to expand in phases. “We are resuming normal tourist visa applications from 28 June. We hope this will further strengthen communication, tourism, medical, and family ties between the people of Bangladesh and India,” said Dinesh Trivedi, High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh.
