The Jakarta–Mumbai Update (JaMU) 2026, organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Mumbai in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Western Region, concluded successfully on 25th June 2026 in Mumbai, reaffirming the shared commitment of Indonesia and India to deepen cooperation through the creative economy.
Held under the theme “The Creative Economy Value Chain – Monetising Cultural Assets in the Global Food and Apparel Industry,” JaMU 2026 brought together approximately 150 participants, including creative economic practitioners from Indonesia and India, business leaders, industry experts, academia, entrepreneurs, investors, government officials, members of the diplomatic corps and media representatives.
The event was inaugurated by Ms Pritee Chaudhary, Regional Director, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), in the presence of Mr Eddy Wardoyo, Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in
Mumbai, and D. Ramakrishnan, General Manager (P&A), National Museum of Indian Cinema, Skill Development, IT & Legal, National Film Development Corporation (NFDC).
The inaugural session featured pre-recorded messages from the Hon’ble Indonesian Minister of Creative Economy, the Hon’ble Indonesian Minister of Trade, and the Hon’ble Governor of DKI Jakarta, followed by promotional videos highlighting the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) 2026 and Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2026, showcasing Indonesia’s growing creative economy ecosystem and international trade
opportunities.
Eddy Wardoyo, Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Mumbai, emphasised that JaMU has evolved into an important platform connecting Jakarta and Mumbai through trade, investment, innovation, and people-to-people engagement. He highlighted the creative economy as a strategic pillar for expanding Indonesia–India
