Juniper Hotels expands in Kaziranga

Juniper Hotels has acquired a 100% stake in Jenipro Hotels Private Limited, securing leased land in Kaziranga under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with Assam Tourism Development Corporation Limited. This move marks a strategic expansion aimed at developing a luxury 5-star hotel and resort, enhancing Assam’s tourism infrastructure. The resort will offer a premium blend of modern hospitality and Kaziranga’s rich cultural and natural heritage, attracting both domestic and international travelers.

Following the acquisition announcement, Juniper Hotels’ stock surged by 4% on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), reaching an intraday high of Rs. 287 per share. As of 10:59 AM, the stock was trading at Rs. 284.7, reflecting a 3.17% increase and a market capitalization of Rs. 6,334.64 crore. The project aligns with Juniper Hotels’ long-term vision of expanding in key tourism destinations, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable growth in India’s hospitality sector.

A joint venture between the Saraf Group and Hyatt, Juniper Hotels has a four-decade legacy in hospitality, with iconic properties such as the Grand Hyatt Mumbai. The Saraf Group’s expertise in hotel development, combined with Hyatt’s global standards, ensures that the Kaziranga resort will set new benchmarks in luxury tourism. This initiative is expected to boost employment and drive regional economic growth, positioning Assam as a premier travel destination.

Despite a 40% decline in Juniper Hotels’ stock value over the past year, the Kaziranga project signals a renewed focus on strategic investments and growth. With increasing demand for experiential luxury travel, this resort is poised to redefine sustainable tourism in Northeast India. The development underscores Juniper Hotels’ commitment to delivering high-quality hospitality experiences while contributing to Assam’s global tourism prominence.
