Klook brings India-Middle East creators together in Malaysia

Klook, a leading pan-regional platform for experiences and travel services in Asia Pacific, has brought together 60 travel creators and storytellers from India and the Middle East for Kreatorverse IN x ME 2026: Unfiltered – Beyond the Feed. The week-long initiative, hosted across Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh, forms part of Klook’s flagship global creator community programme and was designed to strengthen ties within the region’s creator ecosystem while showcasing Malaysia through authentic, destination-first storytelling.

Beyond a typical creator familiarisation trip, the event reflects Klook’s broader vision of converting social-first inspiration into real-world, bookable travel experiences. Creators explored a mix of Malaysia’s iconic attractions and lesser-known local gems, producing content aimed at highlighting the country’s culture, heritage and hospitality to travellers across both regions. This year’s itinerary intentionally expanded beyond Kuala Lumpur to include Ipoh, reflecting a growing traveller appetite for slower, more immersive and culturally rich experiences.

The programme featured a diverse range of activities, including visits to KL Tower, Batu Caves, Genting Highlands and Sunway Lagoon, alongside cultural immersion through street food exploration at Jalan Alor, heritage walks around Concubine Street and adventure experiences at Sunway Lost World of Tambun in Ipoh. The initiative also reinforced Klook’s ongoing commitment to expanding Muslim-friendly and culturally relevant travel offerings across Malaysia, aligning with its broader goal of making travel more inclusive and experience-led.

Highlighting the growing influence of creator-led discovery, Klook’s Vice-President of Global Marketing, Marcus Young, noted that a single moment captured by a creator can shape how and where people choose to travel, adding that Kreatorverse is built to bridge authentic storytelling with seamless booking. According to Klook’s Travel Pulse 2026 Report, a large majority of travellers now book experiences influenced by content discovered on social media, underscoring the growing role of creators in shaping travel decisions.

Several participating creators shared their experiences during the event. Delhi-based creator Harkirat Kaur Kukreja described Kreatorverse as a valuable platform for creators to exchange ideas and celebrate authentic storytelling, while Japan-based Indian creator Ankit Purohit praised Klook’s user-friendly platform for helping creators understand audience preferences and manage both planned and last-minute travel bookings. Shivam Tyagi, Marketing Lead for Klook India and Middle East, added that today’s travellers are increasingly driven by inspiration as much as intent, with creators playing a key role in shaping not just destinations but the experiences travellers seek once there.

The week-long celebration concluded with the Kreatorverse Gala Night at the Weil Hotel in Ipoh, featuring a panel discussion on “AI, Creativity & Community: What’s Next?” moderated by Tyagi, along with contributions from senior Klook leaders across Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. The evening also included the Kreator Awards, recognising creators for storytelling, innovation and impact, reaffirming Klook’s continued investment in creator-led travel discovery across the region.
