The Malaysian Ministry of Home Affairs is preparing for a full June rollout of the National Integrated Immigration System (MyNIISe), a modern digital platform designed to completely overhaul and streamline border management. Replacing the legacy Malaysian Immigration System (MyIMMs) which has been in service for over two decades, MyNIISe consolidates passport verification, visa validation, and real-time biometric tracking into a single framework.
The advanced infrastructure connects multiple national databases to automate and accelerate clearance at all major airports, seaports, and land checkpoints. By supporting electronic autogates and advanced facial recognition, the system drastically cuts processing queues for international travelers. This digital transition aims to heighten national border security while significantly boosting infrastructure capacity ahead of the high-traffic Visit Malaysia Year 2026 tourism campaign.
