The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Google India Private Limited to strengthen digital tourism, improve destination discovery, and enhance the global reach of the ‘Incredible India’ campaign through technology, data insights, and capability-building initiatives.
Signed on 30 June 2026, the collaboration marks the Ministry’s first comprehensive partnership with a global technology company. The MoU is designed as a collaborative and knowledge-sharing framework to support the Ministry in creating a seamless travel ecosystem while enhancing economic and social benefits across Indian destinations.

The partnership will focus on three key areas. Under the first pillar, Google will provide dashboards offering insights into global travel demand to support the Ministry’s strategic planning and decision-making by monitoring emerging travel trends and traveller behaviour.
The second pillar will focus on strengthening digital discovery. The Incredible India app will explore enhanced navigation and destination discovery through Google Maps integration, while YouTube will support the Ministry in creating and distributing authentic content and optimising the Incredible India channel to reach wider global audiences.
The third pillar will centre on capability building, with Google conducting hands-on training programmes for Ministry of Tourism officers and practitioners. The sessions are intended to strengthen digital campaign planning, optimisation, and performance monitoring.
Commenting on the partnership, Preeti Lobana, Country Manager, Google India, said, “India is one of the most searched travel destinations globally, yet much of its diversity remains to be fully discovered digitally. This collaboration is our commitment to closing that gap. From sharing insights on the dynamic landscape of global travel to empowering the Ministry’s teams with strategic digital skills, every element is designed to support the Ministry’s vision. We are proud to partner with the Ministry to build a blueprint for sustained digital excellence.”
According to the Ministry, the collaboration will be governed through a joint review mechanism to ensure the timely implementation of agreed milestones. The initiative aims to combine the Ministry’s tourism development mandate with Google’s technology capabilities to strengthen destination promotion and digital engagement for the ‘Incredible India’ campaign.
