MakeMyTrip has launch Bhutan holiday packages in partnership with Drukair. Travellers from Ahmedabad will have access to direct flights to Paro, eliminating the need for layovers that currently make the journey up to eight hours long.
The new packages reduce travel time to five hours with flights beginning April 26. They will be available on the MakeMyTrip app, across MakeMyTrip franchisees, and at Flamingo outlets across Gujarat.
Bhutan, renowned for its rich cultural heritage and awe-inspiring landscapes, has long been a destination of interest for Indian travellers. Notably, searches for Bhutan rose by double digits in the first quarter of 2026, with the highest growth originating from Gujarat, reflecting latent demand from the state. In line with this growing appetite, the company has curated seven-night, multi-city holiday packages for Bhutan, starting at INR 99,699 per person, inclusive of authentic Gujrati meals prepared by a dedicated Maharaj, a personal cook who travels with the group, accommodation across a choice of categories, fixed departures to Paro, and an Indian Tour Manager alongside a local Bhutanese guide.
Jasmeet Singh, Chief Commercial Officer – Holidays & Experiences, MakeMyTrip, said, “Bhutan has long captured the imagination of Indian travellers, with a significant concentration of searches peaking between April and June, coinciding with the summer holidays. Our partnership with Drukair is aimed at creating exciting new pathways to discover its pristine beauty and is strategically timed to capture demand during this peak season. Every detail of the package has been taken care of, so travellers can focus entirely on the experience.”
Tandi Wangchuk, CEO, Drukair Corporation Limited, said, “India is our most important market, and Ahmedabad represents a significant untapped opportunity. This partnership with MakeMyTrip allows us to extend direct connectivity to the city with immense travel demand. We are confident that travellers will love experiencing Bhutan the way we know it, as a home.”
The seven-night itinerary takes travellers through three of Bhutan’s most iconic destinations; Paro, a picturesque valley set along the Paro Chhu River amid the majestic Himalayas; Punakha, loved for its lush valleys and the magnificent Punakha Dzong at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers; and Thimphu, Bhutan’s vibrant capital.
