Oman Tourism has concluded a three-city Sales Mission across Chennai, Bengaluru, and New Delhi, engaging Indian travel trade on longer, immersive itineraries and stronger market conversion. The mission also focused on traveller perceptions, cooperation with trade partners, and opportunities to grow high-quality tourism from India.
The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, Sultanate of Oman, conducted meetings with travel trade partners, tourism stakeholders, and airline partners Oman Air and SalamAir across the three cities.
The mission included meetings with trade decision-makers, targeted presentations, and interactions with travel partners representing FIT, luxury, group, OTA, family, MICE, and experiential travel segments.
India recorded nearly 700,000 arrivals to Oman in 2025, making it the country’s second-largest foreign source market after the GCC. In the first half of 2026, Oman recorded more than 381,305 Indian arrivals.
Focus shifts to longer itineraries
Discussions during the mission highlighted a shift among Indian travellers towards longer and more immersive Oman itineraries. The average tourist stay has increased to about six nights, with travel partners showing interest in experiences spanning Oman’s mountains, coastline, luxury hospitality, adventure, and leisure offerings.
The Ministry also used the engagements to understand the evolving needs of the Indian travel industry and identify areas where greater cooperation could help convert market interest into reservations.
Another focus was addressing preconceived notions affecting traveller choices in India and strengthening Oman’s positioning around quality, variety, and meaningful experiences throughout the year.
The Ministry presented a broader view of Oman, combining its history and natural scenery with hospitality, leisure, adventure, shoreline, and modern activities.
The three-city Sales Mission marks a further phase in Oman’s engagement with India, with the focus shifting from awareness-building towards conversion, cooperation, and long-term trade advocacy.
Oman said it is working closely with Indian travel partners to increase its market share and attract travellers seeking more meaningful, authentic, deeper, and immersive experiences.
With visitor momentum, expanding air connectivity, and an increasingly engaged travel trade ecosystem, Oman continues to see potential in the Indian market and is focused on sustained, mutually beneficial growth.
