Atout France India observed that travellers were preferring to postpone their travel in light of the geopolitical context that was escalating daily. “However,” says Sheetal Mushaw, India Director, Atout France, “As the situation stands now, people have begun to plan their holidays and have also started to travel to Europe and France. We also have requests for incentives to France. Of course, the numbers as of now may not match those of 2025, but we do think that there will be a surge once the geo-political situation stabilizes and we should find stability by year end.”
Munshaw believes that the hesitation was early on, but people are now finding solutions enabling them to travel. “Airfares have of course impacted the general outflow at large. Bookings are also slowly picking up. We do think that the high spending traveller was not affected much and travel continued as before for this category of travellers. We are seeing visitors to France and we are optimistic that we will see more of Indian visitors to France in the following months,” she adds.
