Prateek Hira has resigned from his position as Chapter Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Chapter of the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO).
He tendered his resignation on 20 July 2026, well before the current Executive Committee’s term concluding later next year. This follows over a decade of his service as Chapter Chairman for Uttar Pradesh. Previously, he also held charge of the chapters for Uttarakhand, Bihar, and Jharkhand in addition to Uttar Pradesh’s.
A veteran tourism professional with over three decades of experience in the Indian tourism industry, Hira continues to serve as Chairman of FICCI Tourism in Uttar Pradesh, a member of FICCI’s national committee, and as the Uttar Pradesh State Convener of the Responsible Tourism Society of India (RTSOI).
His resignation is specific to his role with the IATO Uttar Pradesh Chapter. His commitment to the state of Uttar Pradesh remains strong, where he continues to focus on policy advocacy and advisory roles.
With an extensive background in destination promotion, experiential tourism, heritage interpretation, and tourism advocacy, Hira remains actively involved in promoting Uttar Pradesh as a premier cultural and historical destination. Through his work with FICCI and RTSOI, he continues to contribute to industry development, responsible travel practices, and the growth of India’s tourism ecosystem.
