Indian Railways has sanctioned 100 projects in FY 2025–26 with an investment of ₹1.53 lakh crore, marking a 110% jump over last year. The projects will cover over 6,000 km, a 114% increase in route expansion. Focus areas include new lines, doubling and multitracking to ease congestion, improve punctuality, and enhance passenger experience across the national network. Maharashtra tops the list with 17 projects, followed by Bihar (11), Jharkhand (10) and Madhya Pradesh (9) under Indian Railways’ FY26 expansion plan.
