redBus launches new campaign showcasing changing bus travel experiences

Online bus ticketing platform redBus has launched a new brand campaign, ‘Bus Travel Ka Tareeka Badal Raha Hai’, highlighting how evolving travel features are transforming the bus journey experience. The campaign focuses on changing expectations among younger travellers, particularly Gen Z, who increasingly seek greater choice, convenience, control and confidence when planning their journeys.

The campaign highlights the role of technology in making intercity bus travel more convenient and predictable. Features such as clearer boarding and dropping point information and the availability of buses with in-bus toilets offer travellers greater flexibility when planning trips. Through relatable situations and humour, the campaign demonstrates how younger travellers use these features to address everyday travel needs.

Designed as a phased rollout, the campaign comprises six films, with the first two released in the first week of October. The initial films focus on in-bus toilets and flexible boarding and dropping points, while the remaining films will be introduced in subsequent phases. The campaign is being translated and transcreated into 10 Indian languages to reach audiences across the country.

The first film uses humour to showcase the in-bus toilet feature through an unexpected reveal involving a young man taking a private phone call. The second film highlights flexible boarding and dropping points through a playful storyline in which a woman sees off a man at a convenient bus stop before an unexpected arrival adds a humorous twist. Both films place practical travel features within familiar everyday situations.

The campaign will run across digital platforms, including YouTube, Meta and OTT services, as well as connected TV and regional television in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Odisha. It will also feature during the India versus West Indies cricket series on JioHotstar. The films will be available in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Odia and Punjabi.

Commenting on the campaign, Pallavi Chopra, Chief Marketing Officer of redBus, said the initiative aimed to give the changing bus travel experience a simple and memorable creative expression. She noted that humour could make everyday travel features more engaging and culturally relevant while encouraging a contemporary conversation around bus journeys. Additional films will be released in phases, expanding the campaign’s focus to more travel experiences and evolving passenger expectations.
