Hospitality groups are increasingly targeting emerging state capitals and secondary business destinations as infrastructure growth, tourism development, and MICE demand reshape India’s hotel expansion landscape. Sarovar Hotels has now entered Odisha with the launch of Prachi Sarovar Premiere Bhubaneswar.
Sarovar Hotels, in partnership with Prachi Resorts, inaugurated Prachi Sarovar Premiere Bhubaneswar on 20 May 2026, marking the group’s first hotel in Odisha and strengthening Bhubaneswar’s premium hospitality inventory.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Ajay K. Bakaya, Chairman, Sarovar Hotels & Director, Louvre Hotels India; Vijaya Laxmi Devi, Chairperson, Prachi Resorts; Manmath Vijay Singh Deo, Director, Prachi Resorts; and Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, Director, Prachi Resorts.
Located in central Bhubaneswar, the upscale hotel is spread across 2.5 acres and features 78 rooms and suites designed for business and leisure travellers.

Focus on MICE and experiential hospitality
The property includes Flavours, an all-day dining restaurant serving regional and international cuisine, alongside Mahua, an indoor bar offering handcrafted beverages and cocktails.
The hotel also features a 15,200 sq. ft landscaped lawn, swimming pool, and dedicated banqueting and conferencing spaces targeting weddings, corporate events, social celebrations, and MICE demand.
The launch reflects Bhubaneswar’s growing positioning as a business, tourism, and events destination supported by improving connectivity, infrastructure investments, and rising domestic travel demand.
Ajay K. Bakaya, Chairman, Sarovar Hotels & Director, Louvre Hotels India, said, “Bhubaneswar is rapidly evolving into one of India’s most promising cultural, business and tourism destinations.”
He added, “The inauguration of Prachi Sarovar Premiere reflects our continued commitment to expanding in high-growth markets with strong tourism and infrastructure potential.”

Odisha hospitality market sees expansion
Vijaya Laxmi Devi, Chairperson, Prachi Resorts, said the property was envisioned to reflect Odisha’s cultural identity while offering refined hospitality experiences for modern travellers.
She said, “This opening continues that legacy and also marks an important partnership with Sarovar Hotels, whose experience and national presence will help bring world-class hospitality standards to Odisha.”
The launch further strengthens Sarovar Hotels’ expansion across emerging Indian markets as hospitality operators increasingly diversify beyond metro cities into growing regional destinations.
