Summit Hotels & Resorts has signed a 24-key property in Samthar, West Bengal, marking its latest expansion into an emerging Eastern Himalayan destination. Summit Samthar – The Offbeat Collection is scheduled to open in October-November 2026 and will feature Kanchenjunga-facing rooms with private balconies, alongside a restaurant, lawn, tea garden and outdoor spaces. The property strengthens Summit’s recently launched Offbeat Collection, which targets destinations outside established tourism circuits. Summit currently operates 30+ hotels and resorts across 17+ destinations in eight states. The company also reported nearly 40% business growth in April-May FY2026-27, selling over 37,000 room nights at 78.9% occupancy, with Sikkim and the Darjeeling Hills driving performance.
