Tourism India Alliance (TIA) has announced Mayfair Lake Resort, Raipur, as the host venue for Tourism Exchange (TEX) 2027. Scheduled from 7–9 January 2027, the event aims to combine business networking with destination discovery, while showcasing the tourism potential of Chhattisgarh to travel trade stakeholders.
The flagship tourism event is expected to attract more than 350 delegates and over 50 exhibitors from India and overseas. TEX 2027 will bring together tourism professionals to connect, collaborate, and explore business opportunities across the travel and tourism ecosystem.
The event will be hosted at Mayfair Lake Resort, located on the banks of Jhanjh Lake. The property offers convention facilities alongside leisure amenities, providing a setting for networking and industry engagement.
Commenting on the venue selection, Ritesh Mundhra, Chairman, TEX 2027 Organising Committee, said, “The selection of Mayfair Lake Resort adds a special dimension to the event. Widely regarded as one of the most iconic hospitality destinations in Central India, the resort is a destination in its own right. Set amidst beautifully landscaped gardens and overlooking serene banks of Jhanjh Lake, Mayfair offers a unique blend of luxury, nature, and world-class convention facilities, creating the perfect environment for networking and relationship building.”
Focus on Chhattisgarh tourism
According to TIA, the event is being designed to highlight tourism opportunities across the state rather than focusing solely on Raipur.
Mukesh Jain, EVP, Tourism India Alliance, said, “TEX 2027 is being designed around a simple yet powerful vision: to showcase the tourism potential of the entire state of Chhattisgarh, not just its capital city. Most industry events introduce delegates to a venue or a city. Our objective is larger. We want every delegate attending TEX 2027 to leave with a deeper understanding of Chhattisgarh as a tourism destination and discover experiences they can confidently promote to their clients.”
Familiarisation tours planned
As part of the programme, TIA will organise a series of destination familiarisation tours for delegates.
Pre-event tours scheduled for 6–7 January 2027 will include Sirpur and Barnawapara, focusing on heritage and wildlife experiences, as well as Bhoramdeo and Saroda Dadar, highlighting cultural, eco-tourism, and adventure offerings. A dedicated Temple Trail itinerary will showcase key religious and spiritual destinations across the state.
Following the event, delegates will have the opportunity to participate in a familiarisation tour of Bastar from 9–11 January 2027. The region is known for its tribal heritage, waterfalls, forests, handicrafts, cultural traditions, and adventure tourism experiences.
Jagdeep Bhagat, President, Tourism India Alliance, said, “By combining business networking with destination discovery, TEX 2027 aims to create lasting value for both delegates and destinations. The event will provide opportunities for travel professionals to build partnerships, gain fresh insights, and explore emerging tourism products while experiencing first hand the diversity that Chhattisgarh has to offer.”
Registrations for TEX 2027 are expected to open shortly, with further announcements regarding exhibitors, hosted buyers, sponsorship opportunities, and delegate participation to follow.
