The Serai Resorts has welcomed the Karnataka Government’s decision to resume safari and eco-tourism activities at Bandipur National Park and Nagarhole National Park (Kabini) under enhanced safety protocols. The resumption follows a temporary suspension of safari operations and marks an important step to
wards restoring responsible wildlife tourism while reinforcing the state’s commitment to balancing visitor safety, wildlife conservation and sustainable eco-tourism.
The decision, following a review by the Karnataka State Board for Wildlife, reflects a calibrated approach that enables visitors to reconnect with nature while ensuring the ecological integrity of these protected landscapes remains paramount.
Guests staying at The Serai Resorts at Bandipur and Kabini can once again experience two of India’s most celebrated wildlife destinations as safari operations recommence in accordance with safety guidelines prescribed by the Karnataka Forest Department. As an added advantage, guests booking the “Escape into the Wild” safari package at either resort are assured of a guaranteed safari seat during their stay, enabling them to immerse themselves in the rich wildlife experiences that make these destinations among India’s most sought-after nature retreats.
At The Serai Resorts Kabini, the package includes accommodation on a bed-and-breakfast basis, one guaranteed jungle safari (either a boat safari or canter van safari), a complimentary coracle ride, a guided nature walk once during the stay, and a 10% saving on spa therapies. Packages start from INR 25,000 + taxes on weekdays and INR 27,000 + taxes on weekends. At The Serai Resorts Bandipur, guests can enjoy accommodation on a bed-and-breakfast basis, one guaranteed jungle safari, a complimentary guided nature walk during their stay, and a 10% saving on spa therapies, with rates starting from INR 23,000 + taxes on weekdays and INR 25,000 + taxes on weekends.
These destinations continue to attract a diverse mix of travellers, from dedicated wildlife enthusiasts and photographers to families seeking meaningful outdoor experiences and multi-generational getaways. The forests of Bandipur and Nagarhole offer opportunities to witness some of India’s most iconic wildlife, including tigers, elephants, leopards, gaurs, wild dogs, sloth bears, crocodiles, spotted deer, sambar deer, langurs and a remarkable variety of resident and migratory bird species.
Commenting on the resumption, a spokesperson from The Serai Resorts said:
“We are delighted that safari operations have resumed and look forward to welcoming guests back to experience the extraordinary wildlife and natural beauty of Bandipur and Nagarhole. These parks are among India’s most treasured conservation landscapes, and their long-term sustainability depends on a conscious balance between conservation and tourism. At The Serai Resorts, we remain committed to promoting responsible wildlife experiences by working closely with the Forest Department and local communities to support sustainable eco-tourism practices that protect biodiversity, strengthen local livelihoods and inspire greater appreciation for our natural heritage.
