Cruise tourism in India is gradually moving beyond niche urban markets as travel companies focus on improving accessibility, distribution, and awareness across the wider travel trade ecosystem. TravClan has now been appointed as the Preferred Sales Agent for StarDream Cruises in India.
TravClan announced its partnership with StarDream Cruises on 26 May 2026, aiming to simplify cruise distribution and expand cruise selling opportunities for travel agents across India, particularly in Tier II and Tier III markets.
The collaboration is expected to strengthen cruise product accessibility through technology-led distribution, training, and sales support initiatives targeted at the wider travel trade community.
Cruise distribution remains underpenetrated
Despite growing interest in experiential and premium leisure holidays, cruise tourism in India continues to remain relatively underpenetrated compared to mainstream travel segments.
Industry stakeholders believe operational complexity, fragmented inventory access, and limited product visibility have historically restricted cruise sales to a small network of specialised sellers concentrated in metro cities.
Through the new partnership, TravClan plans to streamline cruise discovery, booking, and after-sales support for travel agents using its B2B travel technology platform.
Chirag Agrawal, Co-founder, TravClan, said, “One of the biggest gaps in the cruise industry today is distribution accessibility.”
He added, “Cruise inventory and selling expertise have traditionally remained concentrated within a relatively small ecosystem, which limits wider adoption across the travel trade.”
Focus on wider trade participation
According to TravClan, the partnership will include agent training, awareness programmes, sales enablement initiatives, and distribution support to help more travel businesses confidently sell cruise holidays.
Agrawal said, “Our partnership with StarDream Cruises is an important step towards making cruise selling more scalable and accessible for the broader travel agent community.”
Naresh Rawal, Senior Vice President – Sales & Marketing, StarDream Cruises, said the company sees strong long-term potential for cruise holidays in India.
He said, “TravClan brings scale, technology, and strong engagement with the travel trade, which makes them a valuable partner in helping us expand our reach across the country.”
Rawal added that the partnership would help extend cruise sales opportunities beyond the traditional cruise-selling ecosystem while strengthening trade engagement across emerging markets.
The collaboration reflects wider shifts in India’s leisure travel sector where travellers are increasingly seeking curated, experience-led, and convenience-driven holiday formats, creating new opportunities for cruise tourism growth.
