South Korea introduces bus fares discounts to foreign visitors

The Korea Tourism Organization is providing 8,000 foreign visitors a 5,000 won ($3.3) discount per person, who use express or intercity buses to travel to regional destinations, for a month from 15 June.

The scheme is being operated by the Korea Tourism Organization in partnership with transport operators.

The move reflects South Korea’s broader strategy to promote regional tourism, disperse international visitors beyond Seoul and make multi-city itineraries more affordable. For the travel trade, the initiative creates new opportunities to package deeper, value-driven Korean experiences for international markets, including India.
