India needs better coordination between states and destinations to improve the experience of visitors, said KB Kachru, President, HAI, at the HAI Hoteliers’ Conclave 2026. “We must manage our destinations better. I think one of the pain points we have is that there has to be coordination, state level, destination level, so that people who visit those places have a great experience,” he said. Kachru said tourism’s focus on employment and GDP must be matched by attention to how destinations are managed.
