Asia-Pacific recorded a 23% month-on-month decline in flight cancellations in August, the sharpest regional reduction reported by Cirium as global cancellations fell 17% to 59,785. The aviation analytics company said cancellations worldwide declined from 71,840 in July, while North America recorded a 20% reduction and Middle East & Africa 15%. Within Asia-Pacific, Singapore Airlines emerged as the region’s on-time performance leader with an 87.91% on-time arrival rate, also placing second globally behind Aeroméxico at 89.74%. Cirium’s latest monthly report tracks airline and airport operational performance using its on-time performance dataset. The findings come as APAC airlines navigate seasonal demand, weather disruptions, traffic restrictions and operational constraints across major aviation markets.
