Air India and Singapore Airlines (SIA) have announced the first phase of initiatives under their Commercial Cooperation Framework Agreement, signed in January 2026. From October 15, the airlines will offer passengers greater booking flexibility across 126 weekly flights connecting Singapore with eight Indian cities.
The enhanced arrangement covers Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata and Mumbai. From October 15, eligible Air India and SIA-operated flights between India and Singapore can be booked independently through the other airline’s website, mobile application and appointed travel agencies, removing the earlier requirement for itineraries to include a flight operated by both carriers.
The move is expected to provide passengers with a wider choice of flight timings and more convenient booking options. The airlines are also working on improved schedule connectivity to reduce layovers and waiting times, alongside enhanced offerings for corporate travellers and other measures aimed at streamlining the travel experience.
The partnership will also expand reciprocal frequent-flyer benefits. In April 2026, Air India and SIA widened eligible booking classes and revised mileage earn rates across cabin categories, enabling Maharaja Club and KrisFlyer members to earn miles on a broader range of eligible flights operated by either airline.
From the second quarter of 2027, eligible Maharaja Club and KrisFlyer members will receive additional reciprocal benefits on qualifying routes. Maharaja Club Platinum and KrisFlyer PPS Club members will receive priority check-in and boarding privileges, while Maharaja Club Silver and KrisFlyer Elite Silver members will receive additional baggage allowances and priority boarding, alongside existing Star Alliance privileges.
Nipun Agarwal, Chief Commercial Officer, Air India, said the cooperation reflects the airlines’ shared focus on providing greater choice, convenience and value to customers travelling between India and Singapore. Lee Lik Hsin, Chief Commercial Officer, Singapore Airlines, said the initiative would strengthen connectivity and provide additional benefits as demand between the two markets continues to grow. The airlines currently have a codeshare agreement covering 77 destinations across 27 countries and territories, connecting through their hubs in Delhi, Mumbai and Singapore.
