India to host WTTC Global Summit 2027 in New Delhi

The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) today announced India as the host destination for its 27th Global Summit in 2027.

The announcement was made at the closing ceremony of the Valletta Summit in Malta by WTTC President & CEO Gloria Guevara, in the presence of India’s Ministry of Tourism delegation.

The 2027 Summit, expected to bring over 1,200 global CEOs, ministers and investors to India, marks a major milestone for Indian tourism. With travel and tourism projected to contribute over $500 billion to India’s economy by 2034, WTTC said India’s scale, digital innovation through UPI and rapid infrastructure growth made it the natural choice for the next chapter of the Summit.

This is the second time India is hosting the Summit. In April, 2005, India hosted the Global Summit at the Ashoka Hotel in Delhi, which was inaugurated by the then President APJ Abdul Kalam.

According to Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister of Tourism, ‘This will be a big win for India, and instrumental in promoting inbound tourism in a big way. It will also help us position India as a premiere destination in South Asia to host large global events, especially after successfully hosting the G20 last year and BRICS Summit last month.”
