Scapia, Tourism Malaysia launch campaign to explore newer destinations

Scapia and Tourism Malaysia have partnered to launch ‘Malaysia Calling’, a four-month campaign encouraging Indian travellers to explore destinations beyond popular holiday hubs such as Kuala Lumpur and Genting Highlands. The initiative will showcase Malaysia’s diverse tourism offerings while providing promotional benefits on eligible travel bookings.

The campaign comes amid growing interest in Malaysia among Scapia users, with flight bookings to the country increasing nearly fourfold year-on-year and accommodation bookings doubling over the same period. The partnership aims to build on this demand by introducing travellers to a wider range of destinations and experiences across the country.

The campaign will spotlight Sabah, Sarawak, Penang, Melaka and Langkawi, highlighting their cultural attractions, natural landscapes and adventure experiences. Through its platform, Scapia will promote these destinations and offer discounts alongside bonus Scapia Coins on eligible flights, accommodation and experiences in Malaysia.

Anand Kandadai, Head of Strategic and Travel Partnerships at Scapia, said the company aims to help travellers discover more of Malaysia while offering greater value through rewards and promotional offers. He noted that the partnership would expand the range of destinations and experiences available to Scapia customers.

H.E. Najwa Musyrifah Ramli, Consul General of Malaysia in Mumbai, said India remains an important tourism market for Malaysia, with travellers increasingly looking beyond familiar itineraries. She highlighted the country’s rainforests, islands, cuisine, cultural heritage and local experiences as attractions for visitors with varied interests.

The partnership also supports Malaysia’s broader efforts to strengthen its position among Indian outbound travellers under the Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 campaign. By combining destination promotion with booking incentives, Scapia and Tourism Malaysia aim to encourage visitors to explore more regions, experience a wider range of activities and consider destinations beyond the country’s traditional tourism circuit.
