Indian Railways has added an additional sleeper coach to the special Delhi–Katra trains in response to rising passenger demand for travel to Jammu and Kashmir. The move comes amid increased summer travel and growing pilgrim traffic heading to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine. Railway officials said the extra coach is expected to improve seat availability and reduce waiting lists on one of the country’s busiest pilgrimage routes. The Railways has also been monitoring passenger volumes across northern routes and may introduce more capacity if demand continues to rise during the holiday season and upcoming travel period.
