Asia-Pacific is leading global tourism growth, with seven of the 10 fastest-improving tourism markets coming from the region, according to the World Economic Forum’s Travel & Tourism Development Index 2026. The report found that emerging tourism economies have improved their TTDI scores more than twice as fast as the top 20 economies since 2019. Competitive prices, strong natural attractions and more sustainable tourism patterns are supporting their progress. Albania recorded the biggest improvement overall between 2024 and 2026.
