BookMyForex, a subsidiary of MakeMyTrip Limited and an online foreign exchange platform, has added travel rewards to its Forex Card, bundling cashback on forex loads, MakeMyTrip travel benefits across flights, hotels, visas, and tours and attractions, and a complimentary airport transfer voucher on qualifying purchases. The move turns what has traditionally been a currency loading product into an integrated travel rewards card for India’s outbound travellers.
All BookMyForex Forex Cardholders will enjoy travel benefits, including discounts of up to ₹6,000 on international flights, up to 30% on hotels, and additional savings on visa bookings, tours and attractions booked through MakeMyTrip. New customers will additionally receive up to 2% cashback on their first forex load on a minimum load of ₹25,000. Customers purchasing a new BookMyForex Forex Card with a minimum forex load of ₹15,000 will also receive a complimentary ₹500 MakeMyTrip airport transfer voucher, redeemable for an airport pick up or drop at any Indian airport.
“Our estimates indicate that Indian travellers can lose 3 to 5% of their overseas spend to forex markups and conversion fees on typical rupee-denominated credit cards, money that leaks away with every international transaction,” said Gagan Malhotra, Chief Operating Officer, BookMyForex. “A Forex Card should do more than just save on conversion costs, it should also reward the spending that happens on flights, hotels, airport transfers and experiences. That’s why we’ve added travel rewards and benefits to our Forex Card, helping customers save not just on foreign exchange, but across their entire travel journey.”
BookMyForex offers two Forex Card variants based on destination and currency requirements: the Multi-Currency Forex Card and the Single Currency Forex Card. Together, the cards support travel across more than 200 countries. Both cards support on trip digital reloads, card management, and global ATM and POS acceptance.
The Travel Forex Card is available through the BookMyForex website and mobile applications.
