Global business travel demand remains resilient in 2026, but confidence has declined sharply amid geopolitical tensions, rising costs, and operational complexity, says GBTA. Optimism dropped from 67% to 40% since January, while nearly 28% of buyers now expect travel volume declines.
The report shows 76% of companies say geopolitical risks are impacting travel decisions, while 30% plan to increase trips despite cost pressures. Around 22% expect spending to decline, and over 80% of meetings remain in-person, underlining continued reliance on business travel despite rising uncertainty.
