Guide shortages and language gaps raise costs, impacting seamless tour execution across Indian destinations, says Mistry


A shortage of multilingual guides across India is driving up costs and disrupting smooth tour operations, especially beyond key metros. Operators are often compelled to fly in foreign-language guides from Delhi, increasing logistical complexity. “If there is a trip in Mumbai, or in Kerala, we do have to send our Japanese, Spanish, and German guides from Delhi,” said Homa Mistry, CEO, Trail Blazer Tours India, highlighting a critical gap in regional tourism infrastructure.
