India has emerged as the world’s 11th largest outbound travel spender, reflecting the growing spending power and global influence of Indian travellers, according to the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC). Speaking at the FAITH Conclave 2026, Gloria Guevara, President & CEO, WTTC, said India’s expanding outbound market presents a significant opportunity for destinations worldwide. She noted that while Indians are travelling and spending more overseas, India must also focus on attracting high-value international visitors. Guevara urged greater investment in global marketing, seamless connectivity, and visa facilitation to help the country convert its tourism potential into stronger inbound growth.
