India plans to resume tourist visas for Chinese nationals, five years after Galwan incident

More than five years after the Galwan clash, India plans to resume tourist visas for Chinese nationals, signalling a gradual normalisation of bilateral ties between the two countries. The move is expected to support revival of travel flows and people-to-people exchanges between the two nations.

Revised guidelines will apply to mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau, with standard visa procedures in place. The development follows easing restrictions, resumption of flights, and renewed bilateral engagements, indicating a phased recovery in tourism and cross-border mobility.
