India received 18,11,950 foreign nationals on medical tourism-related visas between January 2023 and December 2025, the government informed Parliament. The total included 17,51,088 Medical Visa holders, 56,908 Medical Attendant Visa holders, 3,375 AYUSH Visa holders and 579 AYUSH Attendant Visa holders. The Ministry of External Affairs said Indian Missions and Posts provide emergency visa services, while Medical and AYUSH visas are fast-tracked in urgent cases. The government has also extended the e-Medical visa validity to one year, allowed multiple entries, and expanded the facility to 176 countries.
