Group travel from India is increasingly showing distinct generational requirements, with younger travellers seeking technology-enabled, flexible experiences while mature groups prioritise comfort, accessibility, and personalised service, according to Akhilesh Gupta, COO, Motherson Air Travel Agency.
Gupta said Gen Z and millennials are increasingly influenced by social media and are expanding group travel through educational exchanges, university programmes, and work-study opportunities. Their preferences include keyless entry, high-speed Wi-Fi, co-working spaces, sustainable practices, and authentic local experiences.
In contrast, Gen X and Baby Boomers are showing stronger demand for business travel, religious pilgrimages, wellness retreats, and heritage tours. Gupta said these travellersprioritise physical comfort, acoustic insulation, step-free accessibility, and high-touch customer support.
