India is rapidly strengthening its position as a global medical tourism hub, driven by world-class healthcare, affordable treatment costs and growing government support. According to an Antique Stock Broking, titled, India Hospitals: Scaling Capacity to Meet Rising Healthcare Demand, the sector is benefiting from rising international demand for specialised procedures, wellness treatments and advanced healthcare services. According to the report, “India has rapidly emerged (10th rank in Medical Tourism Index) as one of the leading destinations for medical tourism.” The report noted that international patients are increasingly choosing India for advanced medical care due to the availability of quality treatment at comparatively much lower costs. India’s medical tourism market at $8.7 billion in 2025, with projections of $16.2 billion by 2030.
