India’s young population is emerging as a major driver of travel demand, with Millennials and Gen Z together accounting for around 700 million people, said Deep Kalra, Founder & Chairman, MakeMyTrip. “Most of them on average have done six trips a year. Many of them go into double digits, and some are talking about 20–25 plus trips,” he said. Kalra said travel, eating out, and experiences are increasingly taking priority among younger consumers, reflecting a significant shift in how India’s youth spend their discretionary income.
