India’s largest airline, IndiGo, has introduced ‘IndiGo Lite’, a new entry-level Economy fare aimed at travellers flying with only cabin baggage, as airlines continue to diversify fare products to tap India’s growing value-conscious travel market. Available for booking from 1 July 2026 on IndiGo’s direct channels, the fare will be valid for travel from 15 July across the carrier’s domestic and international non-stop network, covering one-way, round-trip and multicity itineraries. The Lite fare includes an auto-assigned seat and 7 kg cabin baggage allowance, while services such as check-in baggage, preferred seating, meals and Fast Forward can be purchased separately up to one hour before departure. Passengers will also continue to earn and redeem IndiGo BluChip loyalty points. Aloke Singh, Chief Strategy Officer, said the new product is designed to offer greater flexibility and affordability by allowing customers to pay only for services they choose to use.
