India’s largest airline, IndiGo, will discontinue its widebody operations from 25 October and conclude its damp lease agreement with Norway’s Norse Atlantic Airways by 31 October, citing rising operational challenges. The airline said geopolitical tensions, airspace restrictions, higher fuel costs, and currency pressures had affected route efficiency and competitiveness. IndiGo’s Mumbai–Amsterdam service will continue with Airbus A321XLR aircraft, while London Heathrow flights will be suspended until the arrival of its Airbus A350–900 fleet. Despite the move, IndiGo reaffirmed its long-term international expansion plans, with affected passengers to receive alternative travel arrangements or refunds where applicable.
