Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma inaugurated the state’s first eco-sustainable Pine Home project at Mawlangwir village in South West Khasi Hills. The government invested approximately ₹5.90 crore through the Saitsnat Multipurpose Cooperative Society. The facility includes guest rooms, a restaurant, community hall, conference and training spaces and a Tourism Information Centre. Sangma also remotely inaugurated the Twahlongwar Open-Air Museum in Mawsynram, preserving an early Khasi settlement with more than 20 structures, megaliths, an old market and an iron furnace. The government has sanctioned around ₹63 lakh for the museum’s infrastructure and research.
