The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, organised a national consultative workshop recently focused on developing globally competitive and sustainable tourism destinations. During the workshop, the Ministry introduced a new State and UT ranking framework through its Program Management Information System (PMIS). The framework will assess project progress, financial and physical achievements, geo-tagged monitoring and compliance, while future plans include AI-enabled interventions to strengthen tourism project monitoring and decision-making.
