Norwegian Cruise Line has unveiled new wellness, dining, leisure, and family experiences aboard Norwegian Aura, its largest ship to date. The vessel will introduce an expanded thermal spa, NCL’s first specialty Indian restaurant, and immersive dining, adding new options for travellers when it debuts in 2027.
Norwegian Aura will feature a two-deck Mandara Spa designed by Rockwell Group, with the wellness experience drawing on natural elements including forest canopies, cave-like retreats, waterfalls, and nature-inspired settings.
The ship’s Thermal Suite will be NCL’s most expansive to date, with 15 wellness amenities, including 11 new experiences. The offering is built around contrast therapy, allowing guests to move between warm and cool spaces, water features, and relaxation areas.
A key feature will be the Sensory Rain Pool, described by NCL as the first of its kind at sea. The 360-degree experience will transition from calm waters to tropical rainfall and a simulated thunderstorm, including lightning effects and rolling thunder.
Other additions include a Blue Glow Suite, Foot Spa, Waterfall Experience, Snow Cave, Reflection Pool, and guided Hot and Cold Plunge experiences. The spa will also include a Salt Room, Meditation Lounge, Aromatic Steam Room, Finnish Sauna, Charcoal Sauna, and Zen Lounge.
The facility will have 24 treatment rooms, a full-service salon, Skin Lab, and expanded medi-spa services, including IV therapy, NAD+ injections, and acupuncture. A fitness centre with dedicated training studios and wellness programming will also be part of the facility.
NCL brings Indian cuisine to Aura
Norwegian Aura will introduce Tamara, NCL’s first specialty restaurant dedicated to Indian cuisine. The concept follows the popularity of Indian offerings at Indulge Food Hall aboard the Prima Class ships.
Located on Deck 8, Tamara will feature an open-view kitchen with tandoor ovens, warm earth tones, and design elements inspired by North Indian temples and courtyards.
The menu will include dishes such as Short-Rib Dosa, Lamb Biryani, and Green Papaya Salad.

The ship will also debut The Panorama Room on Deck 6, a complimentary dining venue featuring LED displays, multi-channel audio, synchronised lighting, and changing visuals designed to create an immersive dining environment.
Hudson’s, the signature main dining room, will receive a new design, while Le Bistro, Sukhothai, Palomar, Onda by Scarpetta, Cagney’s Steakhouse, Hasuki, and Nama will also be refreshed or expanded.
Indulge Food Hall will return with nine globally inspired stations, including Mexican favourites inspired by Los Lobos, a new Middle Eastern concept, and returning options such as Q Texas Smokehouse, Planterie, and Nudls.
More space for families
Norwegian Aura will also feature Ocean Heights, a new activity zone combining attractions, family activities, and relaxation spaces.
The area will include six slides, the 82-foot Aura Ropes Course, a multi-level obstacle course, Moon Climber, Aura Midway with carnival-style games, and a nine-hole mini golf course. The ship will also introduce overhanging cabanas overlooking Vibe Beach Club, alongside a dedicated bar.
Across the ship, several bars and lounges will receive refreshed interiors and expanded layouts. Penrose Bar & Atrium will have more than double the seating and a dedicated stage, while Metropolitan Bar, Swirl Wine Bar, Belvedere Bar, Whiskey Bar, and Daybreak Bar will also feature redesigned spaces.
Aura’s sailing programme
Norwegian Aura will debut in Europe with a seven-day Mediterranean voyage from Trieste, Italy, to Barcelona, Spain, on 21 May 2027. This will be followed by a 13-day transatlantic voyage to Miami.
During summer 2027 and summer 2028, the ship will operate seven-day Eastern Caribbean voyages, calling at Puerto Plata, St Thomas, Tortola, and Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas.
In winter 2027/28, Norwegian Aura will offer week-long Western Caribbean voyages featuring destinations including Roatan, Costa Maya, Cozumel, and Harvest Caye.
