Oberoi Group enters wellness hospitality segment with 20-resort partnership

EIH Limited has entered the wellness hospitality space through a strategic partnership with Bhartiya Group to develop 20 wellness-focused ultra-luxury resorts across India and select international destinations. The collaboration marks a significant diversification for The Oberoi Group as it seeks to tap into the rapidly growing global wellness tourism market through a management-led expansion strategy.

The first phase of the partnership will see the development of three resorts in Coorg, Kabini and Hampi, with all properties expected to open by 2030. Over the longer term, the partners aim to build a portfolio of 20 resorts centred on wellness, experiential travel and longer-stay leisure demand.

Unlike conventional luxury resorts, the new developments will be positioned around a wellness-led hospitality concept combining design-driven architecture, immersive landscapes and personalised guest experiences. The resorts will feature expansive gardens, indoor-outdoor living spaces and curated wellness offerings centred on what the partners describe as “joyful wellness,” including mindful dining, restorative therapies and holistic wellbeing experiences.

Snehdeep Aggarwal, Founder and Chairman of Bhartiya Group, said the partnership aims to create destinations that go beyond traditional hospitality, describing his vision of building “blue zones” where people can live, laugh and love more fully, offering a space for guests to surrender, nourish and evolve.

Arjun Oberoi, Executive Chairman of The Oberoi Group, emphasised the central role of design in shaping the guest experience, noting that immersive gardens and thoughtfully articulated spaces will sit at the heart of each resort, with architecture and landscape working together to create environments that are both restorative and inspiring.

Vikram Oberoi, CEO of The Oberoi Group, added that the partnership would extend the company’s personalised service philosophy into the wellness segment, noting that resorts located in destinations encouraging longer stays will allow every guest interaction to be thoughtfully crafted to create lasting memories.

The move comes amid growing global demand for wellness-focused travel, positioning The Oberoi Group to capture a larger share of this expanding segment through its new partnership with Bhartiya Group.
