Radisson signs Ongole’s first global hotel

Radisson Hotel Group has expanded its footprint in South India with the signing of Radisson Hotel Ongole, marking the entry of the first internationally branded hotel into the Andhra Pradesh city. The 151-room property is expected to cater to rising demand from business, government, social and leisure travellers as Ongole continues to emerge as a commercial and industrial hub.

Strategically located along National Highway 16 on the Chennai–Kolkata corridor, the hotel will strengthen Radisson Hotel Group’s presence in Andhra Pradesh while reinforcing its focus on tier-II and tier-III markets, where organised hospitality demand is accelerating.

“Ongole represents an exciting addition to our growing portfolio in India, reflecting the increasing demand for quality hospitality experiences beyond established metropolitan centres. As the city’s first internationally branded hotel, this signing marks an important milestone for both the destination and our development journey in Andhra Pradesh,” said Nikhil Sharma, Managing Director & COO, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group.

He added that the Group continues to identify opportunities in emerging commercial centres where improving connectivity and changing traveller expectations are creating demand for branded accommodation.

The upcoming hotel will feature 151 rooms, an all-day dining restaurant, bar and lounge, along with wellness facilities including a swimming pool, spa and fitness centre. One of its key differentiators will be more than 2,100 sqm of meeting and event space, enabling it to host conferences, corporate events, weddings and large-scale social celebrations.

Located close to Ongole Railway Station, the property will also offer convenient access to regional attractions including Kothapatnam Beach, Suryalanka Beach, Vodarevu Beach and the Chirala–Vodarevu–Suryalanka tourism corridor. Its proximity to industrial parks, business districts and event venues is expected to support demand from multiple traveller segments.

“Our development strategy remains focused on identifying destinations where evolving economic activity and infrastructure development are creating new opportunities for organised hospitality,” said Davashish Srivastava, Vice President, Development, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group.

“The signing of Radisson Hotel Ongole marks our entry into a city that presents a compelling opportunity to introduce quality hospitality offerings while broadening our presence in Andhra Pradesh.”

The hotel is being developed in partnership with Ravipriya Hospitalities LLP.

“We are delighted to partner with Radisson Hotel Group on this landmark development and bring a new experience to Ongole. Our vision is to create a hotel that combines contemporary design, exceptional service and versatile spaces for both business and social occasions,” said Kandi Ravisankar and Kandi Priyadarshi, Owners, Ravipriya Hospitalities LLP.

Radisson Hotel Group currently has more than 225 hotels in operation and under development across India. More than half of its portfolio is located in tier-II and tier-III cities, reflecting the company’s strategy of expanding beyond major metropolitan markets while strengthening its presence across emerging destinations.
