ROHL launches Iconiqa Collection – Trav Talk

Royal Orchid Hotels (ROHL) has launched the Iconiqa Collection, a curated portfolio of distinctive upscale hotels, with the signing of Laxminarayan Palace Resort in Vadodara. The move strengthens the company’s asset-light growth strategy while expanding its presence in the luxury and experiential hospitality segment.

Royal Orchid Hotels Ltd. (ROHL), through its subsidiary Royal Orchid Goa Private Limited, has signed a revenue-sharing agreement for Laxminarayan Palace Resort, Vadodara, marking the launch of the Iconiqa Collection as a portfolio of distinctive hospitality destinations.

The company said the new collection brings together upscale hotels recognised for their architectural significance, cultural relevance, unique character, and destination-led experiences, rather than following a standardised brand format.

The first property under the collection, Laxminarayan Palace Resort, is located near Laxmi Vilas Palace in Vadodara and combines palace-inspired architecture with modern hospitality. The 106-room resort is positioned to cater to weddings, corporate events, leisure travellers, and social celebrations.

Collection supports asset-light expansion

The launch of the Iconiqa Collection forms part of ROHL’s asset-light expansion strategy, with the company aiming to grow its portfolio through distinctive properties across India.

Chander K. Baljee, Chairman and Managing Director, Royal Orchid Hotels Ltd., said, “The Iconiqa Collection represents our vision of bringing together exceptional hotels that stand apart because of their individuality and the experiences they create. Laxminarayan Palace Resort is a remarkable addition to this portfolio.”

He added, “Its palace-inspired architecture, expansive celebration spaces, refined hospitality, and deep connection to Vadodara’s cultural identity make it far more than a hotel – it is a destination in itself. As we continue to expand across India, our focus remains on creating hospitality experiences that are authentic, differentiated, and memorable for every guest.”

Focus on weddings and destination experiences

The resort features six indoor event venues, landscaped lawns, courtyards, and a ballroom, positioning it to cater to destination weddings, social celebrations, and corporate events. It also includes wellness facilities such as a spa, fitness centre, yoga studio, and swimming pool, alongside three dining concepts showcasing Indian and international cuisine.

Arjun Baljee, President, Royal Orchid Hotels Ltd., said, “Every hotel within the Iconiqa Collection is chosen because it offers something truly distinctive. The Collection is not defined by a shared design philosophy but by a shared commitment to exceptional experiences rooted in the identity of each destination.”

He added, “Laxminarayan Palace Resort perfectly reflects this vision. Its unique architecture, expansive event infrastructure, immersive culinary offerings, and strong connection to Vadodara’s heritage make it an ideal addition to the Collection. We believe it will redefine hospitality in the city while offering guests a destination that is equally compelling for celebrations, leisure, business, and everyday experiences.”

The launch expands Royal Orchid Hotels’ portfolio, which now comprises more than 124 hotels across India spanning the luxury, upscale, and mid-market segments.
